Every taxidermist has their own taste when it comes to the use of molding, processing and material selection.  Innovative Polymers continues to work hard to meet the requirements of our friends in this market place and is announcing the release of IE 3066.  This product is within the same family as the IE 3055 and IE 3065, but is even faster to further simulate those using fast set Bondo for uses such as patching, jacket molding and molds in general.  And yes, it can remove the horrible stink from your facility.  Yes, ours too has its own odor, but not as abusive as that of the styrene compound.  And Yes, we do recommend you continue to follow normal precautions when handling any chemical product that we supply, including working in a well ventilated area.

IE 3066 has a work life of around 3-minutes and can be handled quickly after casting.  It is a filled product, so shake both sides before using.  It is also 1-1 by volume, making it easy to mix accurately.  It can also be immediately painted on a vertical surface.

I tried my sample of this today.   LOVE IT!   Within seconds of mixing it turns into a thin peanut butter paste.   It was very easy to spread, no noticeable fumes, no noticeable heat, no mess (if you can spread butter you can spread this), became hard and workable 10-15 minutes (maybe less, I didn't time it), and was just all around easy to use.   The only con was that is wasn't all that easy to get out of the bottle and measure properly.  One part was quite thick, but once you got it the cup the other part was easy to match and mix.   I give it two thumbs up!!

Can it be measured by weight 50/50?  Sounds like something I am looking for.

They are both 1-1 PBV, but if you did it by weight, it should still react fine.

Is it sandable and how fine is it compared to bondo??

I was thrilled with the results of the 3066. A fast working time is a must for a production-comercial studio. It thickened right away and gave plenty of working time to spoon on a vertical area. After it kicks the surface lays down with few bumps and it does not have sharp strands of fiberglass ,like Plasti paste and tiger hair.I believe  this is one of the best new products available for anyone making molds by hand.
