Hi

I am fairly experienced in the use of poly and epoxy resin, pours, molds etc. but have never tried using moist organic matter in resin.   Leaves, potato chips, dry food...but never anything like a fish or other creatures.  If I were to do a thick resin pour with say an eel, fish or snake will it inevitably rot within the resin, regardless of the lack of oxygen and eventually turn in a mush inside the hardened resin?? Or worse?  I have used products like Aristocrat and Clear Castin etc, but have a new one that creates low heat so can do thicker pours but just takes longer to cure.
Probably an obvious answer so please forgive my ignorance.
Thanks in advance
T

Yes it will rot... YOu have to inject the item with something to stablize it. We use to do small small stuff with formaldahyde.. Insects work out ok.

Not only will it rot but if it has any moisture in it of on it , as soon as the resin cures it will turn white around the object and you wont see it . It has to be cured with a chemical that replaces the water and is combatable with resin.  If your interested , I believe I have a book on preserving specimens in plastic for sale that tells you how to do it.  Rick
