Do cougar's tend to have an overly greasy skull or are they not too bad?

My experience has been with two cougars and both required as much degreasing as a large fish eating grizzly bear, total time start to finish 5-6 months. After that amount of degreasing time they turned out awesome though.

Forgot to mention that both skulls were quite blood stained and required a few times in and out of the peroxide bath to get them just right.

Al, Cats from my area are fairly easy. Main diet here for cougars is whitetail. Much easier to degrease than a black bear or coyote. Must be a diet/regional thing.

Not too many big cats here where I live, but the two that i've done were deer eating machines from Alberta, maybe the deer's diet has something to do with them being so greasy?

This is a whitetail fed cat too and the first few days in the soap, the thing almost turned completely black.  Never seen anything like it.  Kinda scared me, hope it will whiten!
