OK well I gave it a try. This is a fall run chinook I caught a few weeks ago in Racine, WI. It is 31" female.
Just looking for some constructive critique to improve my next one.
It has real fins and an artificial head. Fire away I can take it. Grin Grin
I think the paint needs some work....for some reason the silvery scale tipping looks blotchy but I tipped all the scales it just looks like I didn't.

Pretty nice job. The only two things that I can see that may or may not need attention (tough to tell from the photo) is first the one pelvic fin looks off center and sort've on the show side of the fish a bit??? Either that or your paint is off. And secondly, is that a hen head or M/F? It looks like a buck to me, but I am by no means a salmon expert. Anybody?

The blotchy look may be from scales that are missing

Fall run? Should have the scales embedded and scale loss should not be a problem...

THANKS GUYS the pelvic fins are off a little ...I must not have been as centered as I thought..nice catch
The scales on the side were all there...like he said fall run and scales are tight , it is only in the summer when there is a big problem with scale loss....I think my tipping got to light in spots and I my go over this area again.
As far as the head goes they said it was a female but does have a slight hook to it.

well the good news is that if you catch a hen and want a hook you can turn it into a buck. like marty said, its a dont ask dont tell situation.

Looks better than my Chinook I did a couple years ago.I still haven't had the opportunity to do another one to see if I can get it right.
