Ok guys im 14 years old and for a project in Agriculture class im starting my own Taxidermy business.  I already have alot of promised clients and have quite a bit of experience in working with furs(tanning for rugs and wall hangings) and I already have the thangs to tan, Degrease and soften my furs. I was planning on starting out my business with European skull mounts and more skins, probably a coon or squirrel along the way too.  I know all the basics of Taxidermy and have helped people mount different animals and even know a taxidermist that is willing to give me some supplies.  Any ideas or tips to help me start out a fully functioning business would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Spencer

This is just my opinion but I think you need to be experienced in taxidermy and get your practice in on your own specimens before you start taking in customer work. That way you will have the confidence to put out great work for your customers once you feel you are ready. Otherwise you will be practicing on other people's animals. It is impossible to start a fully functioning business overnight. It is something that can only happen with time and experience

customers doesn't really sound right i guess you could say there more of people helping me out that said if i could do antlers, Euros, and furs for them theyd pay me. Their really just looking for something to remember their hunt and help me out altogether . everyone ive talked to said they but the antler kits from walmart or give me antlers to practice mounting.  with tanning rugs and skins im very experienced with and have been doing that for 3 years and have tanned for money before. im just looking to get started out on the right foot and i im sorry if i made it sound like i thought i could start a fully functioning business overnite. i completely understand what your saying and thank you for your help Nina.
