just a thought, but because of geographical reasons possibly allow x number of points for score. try to equal species measurements. say a 120 class whitetail is equivalent to a 140 class Muley and is "x"  points. you could do the same with skull measurements for bear, boar etc..I would work on something like this with someone that would be interested. that way everyone has a chance to enter with the game that is available to them. I think it should be one entry per person regardless of species to keep it fair to those that are in less than perfect areas, and those with limited hunting time?

How about scoring all species by points (counting both sides, 1" and longer tines) and scoring on weapon (rifle =1 bow =1.5 muzzleloader =1.75 pistol =2 pocket knife =5) something like that to make it simple, after all, it's just for fun..

how would you make it equal if you have all north American species? you would need a way to get an equivalent of say elk, and Key deer? based on the record book you should be able to categorize sizes of each species as equal to one another. if everyone has the opportunity to enter this could be huge. would be nice to give everyone a chance regardless of origin. I like the added points for weapon used!

Even the 5 points for pocket knife.....? LOL

I'm not sure, I was just thinking WT/Muley,,, I guess B/C or P/Y score system but, I'm not sure how you would even the playing field with all different species...

Could try to put together teams of - 2 deer hunters, 1 elk, 1 hog.

Ideas?Huh

A buck would be worth X points, a 4 point the same as a 20 point, this isn't the biggest buck contest, it is a picture contest. With the picture having a list of criteria it has to meet, animal presitation, a picture of the kill in the woods and field vs hanging in the shed, or laying in the driveway. Points for animals yes, but the picture quality, and whats in the picture will be scored.
All animals will have a tag in view, the whole animal and hunter in the picture, hunter wearing camo, weapon used must be in the picture, bolt open on the gun, no arrow in the bow, things like that, a picture contest of game harvested. And a code word given out per week, to be on paper in the picture or writen in the sand or snow in the picture for that week,  so no pictures from last year can be enterd.

Some states let you shoot more animals ( bag limit) then other States, we are going to have to mix the members up on the teams, so no State dominates.

It's a picture contest.

Caribou is a deer right? If I hunt unit 26 I can shoot 1825 of them per year. I'll team up with Hoytman. We win.......  Grin Wink
