Has anyone ever bought a dried starfish from Hobby Lobby etc. and tried to rehydrate it so you can postion it another way besides flat? I was thinking about trying to soak it in water for a few minutes and trying that. I was going to try and position it on a rock that is uneven.  Good thing is they are easy to get and cheap! I looked through all of the archives and could not find anything.  Thanks!

Use  a bactericide,, Rittels works well. and believe it or not hot water.. small ones have worked fairly well but the large ones I have only broken them.. I tried drying some myself and they turned into flat star fish..... Just dont put huge bends in them.. or the small one will break..

You could make a mold and cast it in a flexible material. This could be a one piece mold.....quick and easy. When my son was little he took a big dried starfish and placed it in the toilet. When I asked him about this, he replied that he knew starfish needed water! It stayed stiff as a board.
