Igor,
I see that bird was full of pin feathers (I am assuming from the dark quills in the skin). What is your secret for mounting a bird in pin feather state and not loosing many feathers??

I loose lots of feathers too Sad. To save as much as I could, I apply salt mixed with borax 50:50 inside and outside the skin for 20-30 min, then  very gentle flesh with wire brush, then 20-30 min salt again... then caulk . For most valuable birds I use "30 min bird tan". Helps little bit Wink
