I am starting to pour my own duck heads using silicone and smooth cast because of cost and shipping, never did this before. The first 3 were terrible so threw them away. The last head came out good a couple of spots needed sanding
but were it was rough was in the spots were the silicone stuck to the original when i pulled it out. My question is when you apply the spray release agent on do you let it dry before you apply silicone or do you apply silicone while still wet?

Yes let it dry. It shouldn't take long, a couple of minutes at the most.

You could also have some moisture in the mold.

Darren, when you take your head out of the freezer ( assuming you freeze your head, which you should be) immediatly spray it with your realease agent and it will frost over so to speak. Get right on applying your silicone and the moisture off the head will not allow the silicone to adhere to your head. Do your first layer very thin to P/U detail and allow it to dry over night, once its dry apply a reinforcement coat mixed with a couple of drops of Accrylic paint, move quick cause its pot life is about 15 mins.
