Dakota Pro chatter

I bought a Pro floor model several months ago and Ive had this chatter problem from the get go. No matter how I adjust the lip with my steels I cant seem to work it out. The whole machine looks to wobble a bit when running, so Im wondering if that may be the problem. Also, is there any way to remove the inside piece for the left bottom guard adjustment. It's catching the bigger shavings and bogging the machine down so Im always having to stop and clean it out.

My Dak 4 wobbled when I first got it and I found some stuff  like a packing coating of some kind stuck to the side of the blade down by the hub.  I just ran it up to speed and used the flat side of a screwdriver and let it get pealed off.

Other then that maybe the blade isn't torqued squarely just guess ing

I had the bearings go out on mine about a month after I bought it. That might be the problem or it might be the blade. That's what happened to me when i got chatter marks. I had the blade reground and all was fine. Any small nick or bend in the blade will cause that.

A little piece of flesh stuck on the inside of either pulley will make one chatter like hell...make sure your pulleys are clear of any debris.  I have a piece of #6 wire by my Dakota 5 that I can feed down to the bottom pulley, rotate the blade, and peel out any chunks lodged there.  Hope this helps.

CBRO shoot me a pm and I will try to help you.....there are a few of us on here that have the "Dakota Pro from hell".....mine will drown out a CHAINSAW.....others run like a electric razor....all depends which one you get.
