Hello. Wondering if everyone ALWAYS paints their deer noses.  The reason I ask is because I just textured a deer nose with modge podge.  When the modge podge dries, I was going to paint.  But when the modge podge dried, it made the nose look like a it's very original color.  A very appealing nose color.  So I thought about just glossing as is and not painting.  Is this a good idea or a should I not do it this way and still paint it? Thanks

I guess it is completely up to you. If you are happy with it that way then dont paint.

Yes. Because over time that natural color will fade.  You paint it so this doesn't happen.

The whole purpose of painting anything whether it's the nose, eyes or ears is to bring that dead skin back to a lifelike appearance.  Who wants to see dead looking mount?   Yeah, Nobody....

I like to call it adding color back to the nose. Painting is such a harsh term.

I personally don't like Paynes Grey, too much blue in it. I use a mix that Rick Carter told me about at the World's in 2005. I have tweaked it alittle, but not much since then.
