"Mounting your Memories"

not bad.....i see a little bit of grease or brown color left in the middle of the skull.  Maybe could have used a little stronger peroxide to draw it out..or degreased again for a bit longer.  I don't care for the plaque as being straight.  The horns are a little shiny for me.....but for your first I say you are on your way!

Good job!

Not a pro, or even an amateur here, but it looks good!  Is that a coin mounted below the skull?

I had a similar idea for a plaque.  I was going to cut a 9 or 10" log at an angle to make the slab oblong, leaving the bark on.  I'm sure it's been done a million times, but thought it would be a good way to get a good-looking cheap plaque.

One advantage to having buckets full of rotting skulls laying around is that decorating for Halloween is easy...

Thanks for the replys.  I think I'll pop it back in the degrease tank for another couple weeks and re-whiten.  The horns are shiny because they were still wet.  The coin is a Wyoming state quarter- the state where my BIL shot the lope.  I'm not crazy about the plaque either.  I need to see some pics of how you mount the skull to the plaque.

You want the mount to reflect the area it was taken in.  We've got a lot of rednecks in WY, so I'd say attach it with duct tape
