Just grab the tailbone between your thumbnail and index finger. Pinch it and slide the skin off the bone. The legs and feet can be a bit tricky,  skin them out like a birds leg as far down as you can get.

I say RAISE YOUR PRICES and send it off to a tannery and get it done PROFESSIONALY!

Now if I can find a market for mice and rats skins I would be rich.  I only produce about 2,000 every month to feed my snakes.

Hah. The best way to flesh a mouse that I've found, is when youu have him skinned, and put salt on him, let him dry for an hour or so, then rub your finger in the salt, and use it as an abrasive. The salt with grind off all of the flesh and stuff, and membrane that shouldn't be there, but will leave you the skin. (:

It's really easy! But be carefull around the paws, so that you don't rip them off. Tongue

I've never had to flesh a mouse. The denatured alcohol dries the membrane and it can be peeled right off.

I would pickle the hide, for three days, paying attention to the pH level, then pull and flesh on the machine, return back to the pickle for another three days before tanning in an autotanner.

Respectfully- is the pickling required for something that little? From scouring the forums, most people have DPd it with good long-lasting success. I'd think (but again, I'm still learning all this stuff) soaking something that small for so long would cause hair to fall out or something, unless it's the salt that keeps it stable..

Actually, sending it out to the tanner would be the best bet for long life of the mount. Make sure they tumble it soft for the dry tan. There is a extra fee if you send it without it being fleshed properly.
