Meder forms are nice they seem to have short stocky necks but that can be a advantage to keep taxi's from pulling the hide back to much. Mears are nice forms as well I wouls ask people to post pictures of each to use as your decision maker?

Ryan,

I used to be a big Meder fan. Now I use Mears. That Mears sneak with the head down really low is a sweet form.

You have to figure out what works for the deer where you at located.

Mears work well for the deer south of the Mason Dixon line..

For deer in Kansas Iowa and the colder weather band Meders work well. Broad muzzles. but they just dont work for southern warmer climate deer.

Both have good points and bad points, you need to try both a few times and decide which you like best.

I too once used Meder's, but now like Ben Mears better. Meder's seems to have a short lip line

I have been a Meder faithful follower for years. Over the last couple of years I find myself using more and more Mears forms. Customers like them alot. Big full necks that shows well. I disagree with the southern deer statement. Mears' Northern series work great on anything I get. I find both very easy to mount on. Yes the lip line is shorter on the Meder forms, but it is correct. Walk the skin backwards as you tuck and it will go right into place just fine. For me it is a toss up. Both are very good forms.

No the head may not fit better with mears forms.. Maybe you dont believe it but after living in kansas if I was mounting Kansas or Iowa deer Meder forms would be my choice. they fit those deer.  but for the smaller finer faces on most southern deer Mears is the one.

Mears OSS. I like the way the head turns up and the general anatomy.
