Proverbs 31:13

So I was driving yesterday and hit a chipmunk. I didn't see him till it was too late poor thing. for the most part the little guy and he was in great shape. I crushed the skull but other than that seems like his pelt is fine. So my friend and I got some gloves and picked him up.
We seem to get lots of roadkill around here it's pretty heavily wooded so squirels and racoons are most common, next being skunks, and deer sometimes. I saw a woodchuck a few days ago but he'd been in the sun so I didn't pick him up.

I'm wondering if the tut on skinning a small mammal (the one with the squirel in it.) would be appropriate for skinning this little guy. He's been triple freezer bagged and frozen since we picked him up so any tips on how to go about this project? I really just want to try my hand at skinning and thought he'd make an interesting subject. Should I go for the next roadkill squirrel instead?
Anything I need to watch out for or do differently? I don't think I can do the paws so I was thinking I could skin down to the ankle/wrist and stop there. Those toes just seem really tricky for a first time skin.
Also would an exacto knife be safe to use to skin with since this is an experiment? If it goes well what tools do you guys recommend?

Yes. That tut will also work for chipmunks.
