Another Freezer Burn Question

I've been reading the archives on freezer burn (actually have been reading this forum for years).  Yesterday I fleshed, turned and applied the first salting on a Coues' deer cape.  There is some freezer burn on the bridge of the nose, and around the antler burs (it wasn't very hard, just white and stiff).  There wasn't much to flesh on these places but I did shave them a bit with a skife knife.  The eyes, lips, nose and ears have no burn (I was surprised) and turned very well. 
My question is...  I plan to have it wet-tanned.  Should I try to rehydrate these areas before I send it off?  I don't have any Stop-Rot but will be ordering some to have on hand.

I should have added that the cape has been in a freezer for almost a year.  Otherwise it's in good shape.
