Would anyone know where to get or how the best way to make a stream grass that looks like it is growing from the bottom of the stream but is flowing one direction?  I have an otter mount with a brook trout hiding under a tree root and I was hoping to somehow use the plants to show water motion without having the water.  All the plants I have seen are straight and most without wires.  I was thinking of possibly using permatex to shape them the direction I want but not too sure of the drying time  etc.

my last aquatic leaves I made with a small diameter wire for support, cut out a leaf from stencil material, and then  coated with a water based silicone caulk, did one side , let it dry, then shaped and coated  the other side. the caulk can be used to add leaf texture. after dry I painted. sealed with krylon and installed in habitat. I am sure that this would work for grasses as well. paul

Do you mean something like this? If so what I did was take some fiber fill out of a pillow or some fine excelsior and run a piece of wire through it. Then I mixed some clear cast resin with some dark and light bass green polytranspar to the color I was looking for. Sop it up as much as you can then let it hang over a bunch of paper towels till dry

I like it, I'm looking to do something with a multiple stem plant that looks to be growing from a streambed bottom but is bent  in the middle showing water direction with the upper portion.

Try somewhere that they sell aquarium supplies. Sometimes I find good looking stuff at Petco, etc. (of course there's some truly awful plastic things also!)

Thanks all, I have found some nea plants at walmart but now I need to get them to have a soft bend to show water flow.  I may be able to heat them up and then cool quickly to have a fixed bend that looks flowing.  Thanks again to all.
