Alfalfa
«

I tried preserving some alfalfa for a groundhog scene. I soaked the stems in green plant preservative. This was a couple of months ago. They stayed green but the leaves are drooping. I did not hang it upside down while drying.
I have not attached any to a base yet. I'm not sure if I can salvage what I have. Since it's winter now getting more to work with doesn't look possible till spring. Is there anyone who sells preserved or artificial alfalfa?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you preserved this successfully in the past? I think it would be very difficult to do. The structure of the alfalfa would not hold up even if you hang it upside down. It would also be very easy to soak too long.

This is the first time. It's been a couple months and the stems seem good. The leaves are staying attached and the color is good. Just doesn't look alive. I'll admit I didn't pay much attention to it right after preserving, just stuck em in a coffee can and figured I'd tackle it when I got closer to needing it. I can't remember exactly how long I had it in the preservative but it wasn't very long.

Something like that would only take a few minutes to a few hours. And if you heated the solution like it is supposed to be, I can't believe it would work.
