You can usually tell them what you want and then specify that they paint the oak base (cheaper than walnut) with a black gloss finish.

TJBailey01@yahoo.comOne final tip....I paint many of my own bases specific to the piece. The particular finish you show in the pic can be had very easily with METALIC grey/blk paint found at Home Depot.
