I believe this was the buck poached in Cannon falls, MN.  The "hunter" has 13 violations being charged against him.  he apparently shot a buck a week before and failed to register it, then shot this one.  here in MN we are only allowed one buck per year.

According to a article the hunter had taken a doe, a buck and this big buck. He failed to register or tag the 2 deer, but according to MN. game law by not tagging the first deer (the doe) ANY deer taken after that are also considered illegal....kinda screwy but it shows it helps to understand your local game laws.

it wasnt only that though. and maybe you do think its screwy but his limit for the year was two deer and this was his third not to mention taken after dark with a 22-250 in BOW SEASON. pretty sure those rules arent that hard to understand

It IS supposed to be the world record clean 8;  wonder if we'll ever get to see the rack again.  Such a waste.

I guess the point you are missing is this....even if he killed the deer in a legal fashion and the right amount of deer the fact that he failed to tag THE FIRST DEER this renders ALL deer...whether taken LEGALLY OR NOT are then considered ALL ILLEGAL....pretty sure this isn`t hard to understand.

So here's a example....you kill a doe and do not tag it...then you shoot a world record buck, completely legal...and tag it. The fact that you DID NOT tag the doe renders the totally legal world record ILLEGAL also. I guess I am thinking a little bit further into this than just the surface charges you are referring to.

you kill a doe and do not tag it, this is illegal, this would get your licenses revoked. you then shoot a world record buck. you are an UNLAWFUL SPORTSMAN and that makes shooting the world record ILLEGAL. i guess i am thinking a little bit further into this than you.

and what part about SHOT AFTER DARK IN BOW SEASON WITH A 22-250 sounds "completely legal" to you?HuhHuhHuh

Give it up Rawrock...you just are not getting it....we ALL UNDERSTAND the OBVIOUS laws that were broken, NOBODY IS DISPUTING THIS...I am merely pointing out the finer points of the law THAT WERE ALSO BROKEN....you know the ones you can`t understand...geez alou...

fair enough. but leave it at this, follow the rules and there are no problems. tag the doe like you should, problem solved:) just play by the rules like the rest of us
