I don't remember where this came from, but I was looking thru old photobucket pics I had and came across it. it's the only photo of a live maned deer I've seen. thought I would post it here

That's pretty neat. Would that be a full sneak pose? The way he has his ear turned is pretty cool. Also, the chest is a good example for reference.

   Here's one of the first deer we ever put together.  I took this deer in bow season. His mane ran down well past his shoulders.

Funny you should mention that  I took a photo of it prior customer brought in the head frozen and didn't realize it was there....He said what is the problem here and I explained it to him, showed him the photo and explained how rare it was and then he was super excited! LOL

I have a customer that has shot 2 mained bucks in tha past 3 years. He said he seen the doe, this fall that has a main. What's the odds of that. Out of the 8 years I've been doing taxidermy, I've only seen 4 bucks with a main. I processed deer for 25 yrs, and don't remember ever seeing one. thanks for the post.
