I was approached by one of my customers recently that belong's to a sport/hunt club. He mentioned that I should donate a mount for their raffle/dinner......He say's it will bring me a bunch of biz. My question is how many of you guy's/gal's do this and is it worth my time and mat. or am I waist'n my time!  Thanks Rick

i donate a free mount every year to the trout stocking asociation near me, its for kids 15 and under and when they catch a trophy trout (20+ inches) with a tag they get a free mount. It has always brought in a bunch of business for me around trout season and repeat customers during other seasons. my opinion is that it works, atleast for me it did.

It's very good advertising and community relations, especially when you are just starting out. But it's NOT a tax write off. Labor can't be written off and the cost of supplies should already be deducted as part of your business expenses. If you want a write off....give cash!
