This guy has a studio near my house and is offering classes, I was wondering if anyone knows of this place? Had any dealings with him? I'm going to email him some questions about his classes. Just figured I'd double check on here also.

Please know that Jim Filardi, owner of the training school you're seeking information on, just lost his dad Louie Filardi only a few days ago, (one of two of the original owners of the Kenya Studio - 611 - Morris Park Ave., Bronx, NY). Louie past away of a massive stroke at the age of 70. I used to work for Louie and his partner, Sonny LaBianca 40 years ago when I was just starting out on my own. It was Sonny who phoned me to say about Louie's untimely death. I'm sure the family would very much appreciate some quiet time in the sad days ahead.
If Jim's anything like his dad, you can be sure of a great teacher to learn taxidermy from, I guarantee it. Thanks so much for your understanding in the matter.

I'm getting a different address for the same place.. 1847 Route 55 Lagrangeville, NY 12540? Are we talking about the same people?

Yes sir, we are on the same page. The 611 address was the old address of the original Kenya Studio which was owned by the father of the taxidermist who currently owns the training school now. It was then sold to Carl Pepi who later closed the 611 location back in the mid 80's and purchased the Jonas Bros. Studios now in Brewster, NY.
Jimmy acquired the name Kenya Studios and once again reestablished it. My apologies for the confusion.
