Man thats a great bunch of students and some mighty fishy looking fish to add too.

If anyone is considering a fish workshop I'll be the first to recommend Rick's classes. This man knows his fish inside and out and can break them don't species by species to make you better understand how to mount them or paint them. His students work speaks volumes for what he can teach. If anyone here is in question of these workshops please feel free to contact me for a referral.

The vacation trip was even more fun that the coarse!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not sure what I can add to the post already that hasnt been put on here but here goes.

I went up to Rick's 2x.  A 5day, and then a 10day.  In the 5day workshop, we covered so much stuff that it was hard to absorb it all.  It was amazing and impressive, and actually almost funny to me when I look back at my pictures!!

I remember clearly the first time Rick starts to scribble all over MY BRAND NEW EXPENSIVE DAVE CAMPBELL REPRODUCTION!!!! I about lost my mind.  This man is scribbling with a colored pencil all over my crap!!!!

He teaches you various techniques that even a seasoned veteran will appreciate, and advance your work that much farther.  He will make you think "outside the box"

F     L      O    W.   You will hear this untill your ears bleed!!

Rick is a great teacher in the fact that he has the knowledge, and he is good at adapting to each person's learning style.

I know I appreciate everything the man has ever done, and continues to do for me.

You cant go wrong.

Just do it if your thinking about it you will thank yourself. I put it off for about 4 years and I wish I would have just did it back then.   I will x 100 what everyone else said and add by saying Rick will give you confidence to do, instead of fear of messing up. You will find yourself trying new stuff all the time and probably realize you cant really mess up, but if you do its very easy to fix.. I sure am trying to fit a skin mount and parts casting in to my 2010 schedule.

How can you not love a place that has  'Live Free or Die' on the licence plate! Then to learn and absorb FISH, FISH and hey, if your lucky and pay attention FISH. Once you figure out what a FISH is and perhaps more importantly, what a FISH isn't you get to play with colours.............when Rick first started laying on the different processes my first reaction was WTF did I just get myself into.

So, I just shut up, applied the 2 Ears-One Mouth Principal and with both feet did we go. One of the best learning experiences of my adult life, largely because of Rick's knowledge and ability to communicate that knowledge to a confirmed knuckle-dragger like myself. On a personal note for all out of Country folks or out of state for that matter, if you don't take up the Room and Board option your a fool, I seriously cannot decide what I enjoyed more, Rick's instruction and the Fish building or Kathie's cooking.

You work hard so ensure you get the most value for your dollar. Do your homework then check Rick out.  I was impressed enough the first time to book the month of May this year. (Better start on a diet)

Good luck to you and yours.

Regardless of any scuttlebut about coments allegedly made about Rick Kranes school, they were absurd at best. Ricks school is one of the best in the country, and your talent levels will soar with what rick will teach you. When the opportunity arrises to get training from one of the best, it would be your great misfortune to not grasp the opportunity and run with it!!
