i went to lowes home depot and menards and the only plaster i could find was kale kote smooth finish plaster would this be considered 1 molding plaster if not what would be thanks

That's weird, I usually get DAP plaster of Paris from Lowes in the 25lb bags. Usually you have to look for yourself, it is in a red, white box. I've ask store workers and they are clueless. The stuff your referring to might work, I've used in construction to texture ceilings.

Don't think the Kal Kote plaster would work very well for molding. Try the yellow pages for Gypsum Supply companies. You can buy molding plaster very economically in 100 lb bags

i did ask the guys working at the store but like you said he was nt sure what i was talking about i did see small containers of plaster of paris no big ones though kevin i looked for plaster in phone book but never thought of gypsum supply companys thanks for the info

some of the home depots carry moulding plaster in 50 lb bags from gold bond
