Got this in today and need help finding a calf form and one big eye. Did find an elk calf form about the right size in van dykes. Going to have to do a lot of alteration with the head though. Will get better pictures after it thaws more. If anyone else has any weird stuff feel free to post.

The calf was not capable of putting its tongue in its mouth. How would you mount it?

That is awesome!

I would  mount it on a modified buffalo calf or the actual calf form before I would modify an elk calf form... If you customer doesn't want the skull I will PAY him for it... And Pay well..... Pm me if they are interested.

I'm sure he wants to keep the skull with the mount to prove that it was real but will pass it along.  If you want to PM me a number I can pass that along to him too. Where can I find a regular calf form? Need a laying down form because the other side is badly damaged due to a dog.

Your customer can reach me at the number in my signature.

I can't remember which company makes it but I know there are a couple... I think Van Dykes used to... haven't got a new catalog since they got bought out... A supply company does too if I remember right...  It would be easier to modify a standing calf form than to modify a laying elk Form, the body shape on the two is so different.

Poor inbred little bastard!  That's what causes deformations like that.
Van Dykes carries a life size Buffalo calf:
Buffalo:  Catalog no: 103023 Item no: 01342029
A: 5 1/4" x B: 12 1/2" x C: 38 1/2 x D: 24"

Research Mannikins also has laying down Bison calf lifesize, but you will not find it on their website!  I just scanned this from their catalog.

Jonas has a life size mannikin for a two-headed calf if anyone ever needs to know where to get one of those! Wink
Cattle-Calf-Two Headed - 4¾ x 9 x 34½ x 31 - Heads Down PosTex
SKU # :  3-5421

If you haven't done it, you should have make a death mask of the Calf's head before skinning it.  And for crying out loud ... hold on to the skull until your finished with the mount!  How else will you know how and where to alter a normal head into this little deformity?

You may also need to have a special eye made up for this little one.  Call Tohickon ... they can make whatever you will need!

Good luck to you!

The skull ain't going nowhere until it's mounted. Thanks for the input. I'm going to have to find something thats laying on the other side or alter a standing form. Needs to be laying on its left side due to damage.

Hmmm ... it's hard to tell from the photos, but what damage was done?  If it's bite marks, those are pretty easy fixes.

John... First of all Thanks for posting the forms.. I didn't have that info handy..

Second of all... Inbreeding DOES NOT CAUSE THAT.  Its Enviromental.  Often Consumption of specific toxic plants. Including but not limited to False Hellbore. Chemical properties of the plants affect the growth and DNA activities during certain stages of fetal developement.  Ingestion of the same plant can cause facial deformities  or at a later stage of fetal developement it can cause limb deformities.

Here's a picture of the damage.

Okay ... that's NOT an easy fix!  Whoo! Shocked  McKenzie does have a standing Buffalo - Bison - Calf mannikin.  You can pretty easily lay this little one down on its left side, and alter the legs into a laying down calf.  Just be sure to order it without leg rods! Wink  Much easier to alter without those things in the way. Grin
