Hi Guys and Girls
I am very intrested in getting a auto tanner for my med size shop. Want to get the barrels ,formic acid and salt out of the shop. For all the the experts out there what size of barrel would you recomend for us. We do close on 30 moose mounts a year and caribou. So would be used mostly for moose capes. Like to know any suggestion you guys might have on size and model. any help would be great you can PM me if you rather not get in to a debate.
Thanks gravity for your info!!
Thanks
Kerry

I am not an expert but I have been tanning my own capes for the last 11 years around 800 capes. You will need the large tank and if you go with the auto tanner buy the stainless steel tank but you might want to get a hold of Steve Rotramel and ask him about his new tanning drum. I just perchased one from him and will be putting it to use today. It has a 85 gal capacity and would be more the size you would need for larger capes.

Headsanshines,
I had the same problem when i first started using the tanner. I now add 3oz. pre ten 110 and 2oz. pickle oil to the 1st run and 2 oz. pickle oil and 4 oz. liqua tan after shaving in the 2nd run. then after draining i oil with liqua tan let sit over night then mount. the pickle oil plumps the skin up for better shaving.

There is only one on the market that will last a life time.
Wegner's Premier Tanners
Pressure Tanners and the state of the art Vacuum tanners. Two hours to tan deer cape.
The motor I use will run a 100 gallon pressure tanner. Buy the best and leave the rest. You can trust me on this. And that's no bull.

Sorry can't help with that, I've never tried krowtan or any other chemicals in the tanner.
