I probably should have practiced on something smaller, but as matters stand, this 6-footer i
s
my practice time. A 9-footer awaits that rangers will use for a prop in their talks here in the Everglades. I knicked it a few times, not bad, maybe 1/4-1/2 inch slits. Somewhere online I've read that someone uses "tacks" to repair snake hides. That sounds impossible to me. Something like superglue seems to make more sense. I'm interested how others dead with holes in a snake skin.

In a post I was reading the other day, a member stated that he liked using pieces of old dryer sheets and super glue. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Hm-m-m. "old dryer sheets". You mean things like Bounce or Snuggles fabric softeners?

That's what you need. Apply Super Glue GEL, not regular super glue, around the slit. Pull it together and place the dryer sheet over the top. It makes a great repair.

I should have said that you cut the dryer sheet to the size needed to cover your hole - don't use the whole sheet. LOL
