Check your ph levels twice aday 1-2 in your pickle and do not over nutralize your hide to long before you brush on your tan, you can try  pretan110 in your pickle and I roll up my hide and put in a 13 gallon bag get all the air out leave set for 6 hours, rinse and towel dry and then freeze you should have no problem.also make sure you are salting your cape well and semi drying it before you put it the pickle. This has worked for me with McKenzie tan.

Don't know your situation for sure BUT if you are pickling in 5 gallon buckets make sure and stir your hides up daily at the least.  The tight quarters can cause pockets where the pickle cannot reach.
