Definitely a sturdy ear. Are you just using the creme hardener or a dab of creme and a couple drops of the fiberglass hardener?

I'm sorry, but that's just plain DUMB. Why would you use a brittle product to seal a soft flexible one? Bondo WILL NOT ADHERE TO PLASTIC - END OF STORY. You could use Vaseline and get a similar effect to what this is doing. It's simply forming a vacuum between the skin and the liner. If you're using a plastic earliner, you should be using an adhesive that works on plastic (like EPOXY) and if you're using Bondo, then USE BONDO.
When plastic earliners came out, we used EVERYTHING to hold them. The "secret" to using Bondo was to take a hole punch and turn the earliner into Swiss cheese. Then put the Bondo in so that it could ooze through the liner (much like an autobody repair), but on shorthaired deer, you could see the "cheese". We used silicone, but it cured too slowly and sometimes it never did. We used Liquid Nails and it just caused a mess. We even used destructive adhesives (like JawJuice) but that melted the plastic liners and we ended up with globs. Then we found epoxy and the problem was solved. Some hide pastes contain chemicals that will also break down the surface of the plastic and adhere to them. But Bondo IS NOT ONE OF THEM. You're setting yourselves up for trouble down the road and if you won't take the advice that's been tried and discarded decades ago, then good luck. You'll really need this tutorial when you explain to your customer why his deers ears are an inch thick in a few years.
