Troy is amazing with animals both live and dead.

somewhere I have pics of Troy's little buddy sleeping on a pillow. His buddy at the time was a Chukar, and yes the bird had his own pillow and would sleep there in the shop.

Artistic School of Taxidermy   Recent Student Pictures 12/19/2011.  Kirk just completed two days of advanced bird mounting techniques, and of course, he had to go and bring a pair of those white things.  Kirk, was a student of mine many years ago and came back to get some advanced lessons on bird mounting.  Kirk you did a fantastic job!  Glad to see you still got it!!!  Your snows came out awesome and so did the base!!!  Nice "T" shirt  Cheesy

Troy I just gotta say, many long time studios dont put out work of that caliber and your students are doing it! You definately are talented as hell and obviously have a way with teaching others. Just very, very impressive! Look forward to seeing more work!

Thanks Mike,

It's always nice to hear great things from Icons of the Industry such as yourself.  I will pass your words onto my students both past and future.  I was just asking Jim Kimball about you at the UTA show they had over the past weekend in Pasco, Washington.  Have you done any collaborative projects with anyone lately?  Well, I hope your 2012 is of to a fantastic start!  Thanks again and I will talk to you soon.

I hope to get back up to learn a few more things from Troy before starting my competition pieces for the Oregon show and maybe Wyoming. Anyone wanting to learn taxidermy or just take it to a higher level should take some training from Troy.

Artistic School of Taxidermy   Recent Student Pictures 2/8/2012  Just finished up 7 great days with Rodney from California doing gameheads and medium life-size animals.  Rodney brought an absolutely huge blacktail deer that he had know idea what it scored...Let's just say it will be way up there if he ever decides to enter it into the books. Rodney, if you need a place to hang it because your wife won't let you hang it in the house, I have plenty of wall space! We were not able to complete the finish work on the blacktail and raccoon.  Rodney put some serious hours into his mounts as they all came out awesome! Rodney, I had a great time teaching you the art!

Artistic School of Taxidermy   Recent Student Pictures 2/17/2012  Just recently completed 5 great days with Tyson.  Tyson returned to do more advanced bird techniques, and wow did he ever.   The pair of Old Squaws were stunners (unfortunately we were not able to do finish work as the birds were not dry).  Tyson also did a beautiful Blue Ross and a nice Woody  Great job Tyson!  It was great having you back!!!

Troy, you are the man! Folks, if you are thinking/wondering where to go for beginning or advanced Taxidermy training, I can and will strongly recommend you give Troy a call! I have been out of taxidermy for a few years and wanted to reenter this fascinating field. Through a lot of research Troy Rose at Artistic School of Taxidermy just kept coming up time and time again. He knows his stuff and is very qualified as an instructor! You will NOT find a better value for your dollar as in addition to the great instruction, you have 1st class accommodations! I will personally guarantee you will not beat the hospitality that Troy extends to his students! Yes we did put in some long hours but it was worth every minute. (this was due to my unparalleled speed LOL!)
Troy, thank you again! I really needed the "working vacation" and feel as though I have gained a friend! Best of luck in the future with all your endeavors!

Sincerely,
Derrick
