Dwayne Pittman, an Anglers Artistry Family Member: 2 day Workshop Auction. The Auction will end today Monday the 12th at 8:00 PM EST.

I feel the need to make this post. I only get on the net here very infrequently and I some times miss the very important posting about our fellow taxidermists.

I received an email and a phone call yesterday regarding this terrible situation my fellow Fishhead and student Dwayne Pittman has come to find himself in. I personally find this situation very meaningful as I too sustained a major head injury in my life and fully know the road of recovery is long and very sad some days. The outpouring of love and kindness for each other on the Taxidermy.net is simply beautiful and I find myself in a position to help out a friend and Family Member of Anglers Artistry.

Kathie and I donate several fish a year for various charities and from time to time a special donation of a unique gift is asked. When Dwayne called to tell me what happened I called Kathie and we agreed that we can open the kindness of charity to give a friend a hand up not just out.

I make this offer to a member of the Anglers Artistry Family and to a wonderful friend. I will offer a 2 day painting workshop to paint a reproduction fish (within reason, no whale sharks or great whites please LOL) As some of you may know I teach fish taxidermy here at Anglers Artistry and the workshops are completely booked for 2010 however, I will open up one of my personal weekends to the person with the highest bid.

You get yourself here to the shop, with your reproduction and once here you will receive 2 full days of personal one on one instruction. There will be no need to book a room for the Saturday night as part of your weekend instruction as you will also stay here as a guest in our home in beautiful New Hampshire. Lunch is included both days as well as Supper Saturday night and Breakfast Sunday Morning.

This package typically goes for $ 850.00, so I hope you get a bargain and it help outs a family in need of some kindness. Head injuries are permanent and take a long time to overcome with proper healing I know personally and full well that this will be a hard time with many frustrating adjustments for the Pittman Family but if this can help out even just a little I am glad I can help.  As I mentioned I do a very limited amount of charity and donation work but this one time I want to share that I do understand how hard this situation is and can be to a family.

The bidding will start now and will end July 12th 2010.
I will open my own workshop bid at $200.00

Thank you

My Best!

Rick, I will bid $400. I will also donate to the person who wins if it is not me, a replica blank of my own for the person to use at your workshop if it will help. I have a 19'' Smallmouth, a 15'' Black Crappie, and a 19'' white bass right now. I may have a few Steelhead soon if they turn out lol. This is a great thing you are doing Rick. I would expect nothing less from you my friend. Good Luck to all! Gus

Awesome Rick!  It was good talking with you today.  I am really glad you are helping a fellow friend out and opening your shop up to the winner.  I already knew you were a good dude, but this really tops it off.  Great offer Duxdog, thanks!  -Marty

WOW! Rick, this is a wonderful thing you and Kathie are doing! You two are such Awesome people!
Anyone thinking of making your fish look better need to jump all over this. It does not matter what your skill level is, you will leave this workshop with a overwhelming amount of info and a new confidence level. What a great opportunity for someone to learn from the best and to help out a fellow taxidermist.
I wish I lived closer, I would be all over this. heck I would pay what the bid is at now just to go eat Kathie's  cooking and hang out at the Krane farm.
