I ain't rich but Lord I'm free.............

« on: July 23, 2010, 12:07:15 AM »

This is Sonny, a female Pomeranian I am doing for a client.   It's not finished yet.......well it was but I rehydrated the face 2night to widen and shorten the nose a little.

The ears and skinny legs gave me heck, but I did as good as I could.  The biggest dissaointment for me was the whiskers and eyelashes, I totally blew those, those are also being rehydrated and reset.

All in all I don't think it's bad for my first pet dog, but I am hoping I can make him look much better.   Will post pics of the "new" face by Monday Smiley LOL

P.S. 1 tip....DO NOT get ignorant and use hair sheen on a mount like this after you have groomed it, it makes it a ^%$%^$$*& horrible mess! Cheesy   IO knew better than that but did it anyways Embarrassed

looks really good  Grin  and hear ya the hair sheen --i used to groom dogs and i would only use it on the smooth coated dogs otherwise it looked greasy -- use a paper towel and just rub and change towels and it will slowly get the sheen mostly out

Looks great Mike! Had someone call about doing a horse once. But never a dog/cat.

Looks really good. I dont see, by looking at the photos, why you need to widen and shrink the nose. The whiskers are an easy fix if you "have" to get them perfect. I would raise the front eye lids a bit to give the "sad puppy dog look".

Was it easy money?

WOW Mike that looks great!!  As far as the hair sheen and on pets in particular that are a fatty critter anyways........dust 'em real good with "Shower to Shower" body powder, then blow it out with your compressor.  Be sure to work the power down to the hair follicles...blow it out and groom!  May take a couple times till it looks right  AND the powder helps to get rid of that funky tanning smell.  The owner will be glad you did.
