Your best bet is to order it from WASCO, their directions are spot on. Also get some of their pickling crystals (Oxalic Acid) which I find works very well when tanning with Lutan F.

FYI, stay away from the kits

Not that I'm trying to start an argument, but why stay away from the kits? They come with everything you need, and they come with instructions.
And Van Dykes has them listed on their website.

Is it best to stay away from the kits?  And does it include what you need to fletch?

IMO No. It's not best to stay away from them.
I'm assuming you mean flesh Huh But you need to flesh the whole hide. And it needs to be thinned as well.

unless you plan on doing a lot of tanning the kits are the best way to go. you will need to get a pH kit 1-6 range. kits come with detailed instructions, easy to follow and there is no waste you wont have chemicals hanging around that you may not use right away. also some chemicals you use very little of compared to others so you need to know the process to make a knowledgeable decision when ordering. stick with the kits!
