This is Black Jack one of Bill Yox's deer.  Just thought I'd share a pic, he is even bigger in person.  I put a couple more pics in the training section under Bill Yox One on One Training.

You are right Wayne he is massive. The pictures don't do him justice, those bases are over 10 inches around, the mass of the brow tines is bigger than most deers main beams!!

In the field we compare the bases to the eyes, to get an idea of mass, because eye size is similar in most deer. Compare this bucks bases to his MUZZLE, lol. The best part is, nowadays they make em a lot bigger than this fellow !!

Yea, but they don't all have awesome brow's like those Bill, I've seen a strain of brow's at the breeder's but not even close to those!!!!!!!! That's all I can look at lol !!!!!! Hey, gotta question for ya Bill, why are they completely bald on top like that, it cant be from scratching with the rack in the way could it, I guess maybe w/ their hoof. That cape I was tell'n ya about has the same bald area.

I raise them in my own image, what can I tell ya.

Kidding aside, bugs drive deer nuts, and some rub (yes even in velvet) and some not as much. But, I think this could be hereditary, as his brothers have the same pattern where its thin or missing. Remember too that captive deer have other conditions like boredom where they rub or even over groom, or byproducts of hopped up energy levels from super charged feeds, for example.
