The Week in Fish Pictures" ~Year 4~ Week # 37-38 !!!!!!!!

A very warm hello from Hinsdale, New Hampshire. I had a great time fishing at 11,000 feet in the beautiful mountains of California with my long time friend Mr. Kevin Libby of Trophy Room Services of Reno Nevada. Some times in life you have to push your self to the point of near failure to achieve the rewards of a life time of opportunity even if it is for a moment on top of a mountain! Lie all we do some times you have to go for it to see if you still can!!! I hope you have the opportunity if only to mount a fish you always wanted to this year juts to say you did!

Truly incredible displays of so many incredible fish in the past 2 weeks!!! ! I really do personally enjoy seeing the progression and the raw talent of the dedicated contributors! Friendliness and positive comments of motivation is a great place to start in upward direction of inspiration! I wish all the best to folks competing in the up coming months and I do wish all the very best in the pursuits of good fish work!

I do hope you have the opportunity to be thankful for your gifts of great passion and talent as an artist! It is a blessing to me for our lives to be joined from time to time to share and learn from one another so thank you for your great taxidermy work!!!!

I want to personally say thank you for letting me join you again every week in your successes and accomplishments! I have seen first hand the great strides so many have made with beautiful fish work! Good for you and congratulations on your hard work!!!!

Let's start of the week recognizing those who shared their wonderful work with all of us! Take tome and acknowledge the folks who share so willingly their talents!!! Thanks for all the beautiful fish work in this past weeks this week in fish pictures! Absolutely breathtaking!!!!!

I want to thank all of the great contributors who really show not only great talent and work but rather give such inspiration to all of us!

A great week Fishheads!!!!!
From beginner's to the best in the world we all join in every week in a critique free and hassle free string with nothing more then great artist and inspiring fish taxidermist and carves get together to share with one another their praise and inspiration of good will and friendship to one another. No egos just friendly folks who appreciate the efforts of others!

This week I want to share with you a a truly talented taxidermist who just got back into the game! I had the privilege to spend some time working on some great however very changeling projects with Mr. Brain Noody from Garden City, New York! Brain 20 years ago was a face in the Empire and New York State shows and like all of us at some point just went and did some thing different for a while! Brian has come back with such passion and drive to take his work and to inspire others! What a great time Kathie and I had with Brian as he shared a piece of his life and his talents with us here in New Hampshire! Brain had a challenging goal for us to work on for his workshop. Brian caught some great fish in Iceland and wanted to mount them however several of them were skinned and heads removed, to add to the fun a rough sketch on a news paper was made to give this project the coolest of challenges. I want to share the outstanding work and effort of Mr. Brian Noody! I hope you enjoy the work of Mr. Brain Noody!

So here goes!

I hope you enjoy the week! See you in 2 weeks!

So with out further ado let's get week # 37-38 under way.

So here we go and here is to a great week in fish pictures!!!! # 37-38 Enjoy!

My Best!

You're Friend
Rick Krane

Nice work Brian, it'll be nice to see more of your work to come.

Well, been a while since I posted anything here – had a bit of a handful switching website hosts and whatnot, along with sketchy internet service.  That’s all history now, so hopefully I can post a little more often than I have as of late (or maybe not, lol).  Anyway, here are some projects I’ve worked on in my absence…

47" ocean-caught Chinook Salmon skin mount with cast head:

36" Walleye replica from Research Mannikins - always like using this fish when I get the chance, but I just don't get the whole rubbery fin cast thing:

30" triploid Rainbow Trout skin mount:

40" Steelhead pedestal skin mount with cast head and fins:

38" Steelhead skin mount with a cast head:

35" Arctic Char replica from the Ron Reynolds collection of molds, modified slightly:

30" Coho Salmon pedestal replica, originally molded by myself in 1993 (available from JG Replicas), modified kype and fins:

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I have to also say a big thanks to Rick and Kathie for having me last week.  I thought I was a pretty good fish taxidermist, then I realized how much I didn’t know.  My head is still spinning from everything Rick and I covered last week.  I think I learned more in the last five days than I have in the last 20 years.

If any of you have been considering a class with Rick and you’re serious about doing the best work you can, you owe it to yourself to give him a call.

Regards,

Brian
