Can I soak velvet antlers in denatured alcahol for a few days to preserve them and then use a tooth brush to fluff?

IF they are soft summer velvet, you will need to get them freeze dried. But that doesn't mean that you don't need to preserve them, too.  Alternate soakings in denatured alcohol and a borax solution are what I have always done. Start and finish with alcohol and then freeze until you can get them freeze dried. Without doing a borax soak you will eventually find bugs eating off the velvet.  Even if they are hard velvet(even just dried velvet pieces) it's agood idea to do a couple quick soaks to get the velvet "bug proofed".

Edgewater did the last set that I needed freeze dried.
