I have a few questions related to gator hides. As some of you may know I'm going gator hunting in Sept in Georgia. I want to get the skull done and I also want to tan the hide to hang on the wall. I have spoken to a few guys about the skull and I'm good with what they have said. My questions are more for the hide. I looked at American tanning in Georgia's website, they said they charge double if the hide is not fleshed properly and I read a post on here where someone was charged double by them because the hide was salted. Can someone guide me to either another place to get the hide tanned or maybe give me some guidance. This will probably be a once in a lifetime hunt and I want to preserve the hide properly bu also I want to feel like I know exactly how much it will cost and not get a bill inthe mail saying I owe double in order to get my hide back. Or if anyone on here does this type of tanning please contact me. Thanks again guys and gals

I would attend the Gatorpalooza next month in Illinois. You will leave with all the gator knowledge you will ever need.

i drew a tag a couple of years ago and was luck enough to get a 12'6 gator... i skinned and power washed it the best i could. i will be sending my hide to Semiol fur dressing in Alexander city (in alabama) and he will do the final fleshing and tanning i believe for around $47.00 a ft and came highly recommended i will have also salted it before sending it to him give him a call was a great guy to talk with
