This fish had been on ice for a few hrs so it is a little dark but still shows some good details.

Pretty amazing photography.  Can you tell me more about this fish.  Was is just caught/ /fresh or had it been expired for a while?  Thanks for the reference, it will help with the one in my freezer.

Lake Michigan fish. Should have been mirror silver but it had been on ice for a few hrs. and had darkened up a little. Caught a couple miles from shore in about 75 ft. of water.  I will try to post some pics of a few fish that have run upstream if I have time to go fishing in the next month or so.

Sorry about that.  I completely missed the wording above the first photo.  I must have been to anxious to see the photos.  Thanks again for the great reference.

Jeff suggested adding to his thread from awhile back about fresh run kings; the post page there suggested starting a new thread, so here it is.

This was a Nushagak River king, caught fairly early in the run (late June). It's from a few years ago (before I understood the value of good reference photos, or I would have taken photos at the boat live). I don't remember the exact size but I believe it was in the high 30 inch range and around 20 pounds or so.
