Hello,
I have a multiple fish project that requires a large quantity of light density urethane foam.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction to order big blocks of this foam for carving?
Thanks  Smiley

Go to the internet and look up General Plastics...you will have to be assigned a sales rep. Once you get that done...order the foam that is numbered 7104. They make several strengths of foam...but that number is the best. It is cream colored and is easy to carve and sand. The best part is this foam's dust just falls away. Be aware though...the foam has to be bought in 4 X 8 foot sheets 6 inches thick. They will cut it any way you want it.

We used to by it from McKenzies or Van Dykes, but someone told me that they don't sell it anymore. Huh

I'm not sure if they still have it available or not but Rimco Plastics inc. may still carry it.

A friend of mine uses the white polystyrene foam for all of his fish I think in 4lb density he does hundreds of fish per year mostly cold water trout and salmon. the foam is much cheaper and not the foam normally used for taxidermy purposes but in this area its easily obtainable for free. he has used it since the early 80's with no issues I also used it for quite a few years.
