Why do taxidermists always say jet black noses are bad? I dont see any flesh color at the bottom on these deer Smiley

Nice pics, That old girl does have a jet black nose. It's probably a little deceiving tho, not a lot of lighting, and apparently it rained the night before cause it shouldn't be that wet either. Just goes to show how much variation there can be in eye shape, nose colors, ear position ect, thanks for the pics, I'll probably steal off with them and add them to my reference photos!!

As much as you think its black its not. the pics just make it look close to black. Its a dark grey color. Some deer don't fade to a real flesh color at the bottom but they are never "jet black".
