Rock Wall Habitat

I caught a smallmouth bass a few feet out from a big slab of rock and I thought it would be cool to incorporate it in my mount. I'm looking for some pieces of flat rock that I can hang on the wall. So obviously it has to be thin and it can't be rock it has to be fake. All I can find is unpainted stuff. Does anyone know where I can buy a piece about 8 to 12 inches long and maybe around 8 inches tall that is finished? If not does anyone know how to paint rock?

I would make my own, and you can make it any size and shape you need. Rocks are pretty simple and you should be able to find some good tutorials on it.

You can check out the tutorials about Art.rock . . . OR you could order some of the "rock mix" from Jim Allred Taxidermy Supply-it's awsome! (and not all that expensive).
The art.rock comes in different sizes/grades (you can crush some to help cover the base easier too). Check out Rick Kennaire's directions for making "underwater" scenes-they're really neat & not all that hard to do. Hope this helps,Susan.

I think I will go ahead and try to make my own, like you all said, this way I can make it for my needs. After I make it, is it possible to mold it to use it again?
