Check out this story about a Florida man catching the new state record gator. Over 14 feet! Says he is selling it to a taxidermist for $1000 pr foot.

It was 14'3.5" long but only weighed 654lbs so It was a long skinny gator

For Sale....3) 12 foot gators for 1000.00 per foot.  Now don't you guys trip over each other here. I have 3 and at that price, I will get more.  LOL     Anyway, nice gator, dude.

I wish you could money like that I'd quit working and just hunt 12' gators all year. The only ones worth good money nowadays are 13' plus gators which are rare and getting harder to find

You cannot believe everything you read in the press! Alligator in question was 14ft 3.5" and weighed 659lbs. We have seen and caught much skinnier gators this season.
 The previous record holder was 14ft5/8ths and was supposedly sold for $1000 per foot in 1997. we are excited about breaking the record, and if anybody wants to make an offer we are open to negotiation....
We had a great season hope you all did to. Cant wait for next year

alright that s a state record in flordia, but what about that 28 footer in AL     http://forteanzoology.blogspot.com/2009/06/another-alabama-alligator.html This seems not right does anyone no if is true and or was it mounted.

Not even close.  Gators fed very well and raised in captivity might get around 15 feet.
