I am getting ready to finish my base for my largemouth bass and wanted to know if I should gloss the whole base driftwood and all or just put it together and leave the fish glossy. I want to make it look like it is going for a plastic worm on the bottom of he pond but dont want to make it look stupid by adding to much gloss.

often times, logs rocks etc do not look wet( glossy) underwater, ck out some underwater photo sights, If it was me I would work on the coloration of the log to make it look wet, not glossy. I may try to add some vegeation to it like pond moss just my opinion paul

I do tons and tons of diving and logs and etc look dark wet not glossy where above water they are light grey color - go to the edge of pond or lake and pull small limb out and use for pattern - but only think - when you pull it out of the water the part of limb in water will look wet to you becuase of the light reflection. hope that i could be of help.
