A little cape prep question?
«

This might seam like an easy one to some of you but I have a deer cape that was brought to me with the head removed then frozen. No fleshing was done and nothing seams to be come'n off without a fight. Can I try putting it in the pickle now and do the final fleshing or does all this need to be done now before it goes in? After your done laughing you could you please help.

Maybe it's me, but I'm not sure what condition the cape is in...Are you saying it was caped out normal with the head cut off at the neck and you need to finish skinning the cape off the skull? If so, then what is the problem?

Sorry for the lack of clairity. The skull has been removed, ears and lips have been turned but no fleshing has been done except for the majority of the meat removed from the neck. Their is still the stuff on top of the head and some on th face that I've been trying to remove but it seams to have dried a bit and is quiet miserable to remove. Also trying to scrape down the neck area is finding nothing is peeling off like it does when its fresh. So can a guy get it soaking to soften things up and finish fleshing everything down squeeky clean? I'm planning on doing my own tan with Lutan F.

Sounds like a case of freezer burn to me. You can apply StopRot to it if you have any, if not you can removed what you can, salt for a few days, rehydtate and then place in the pickle and work on it from there.
