2010 was a devastating year for losses in the taxidermy profession. Along with the incredible highs of the miracle recoveries of Harry Paulson and Glen Conley, came the lows of untimely deaths of many of our colleagues. Here are some of the friends we lost this past year.

Kentucky taxidermist Bobby Clemons of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, is shown here at a recent workshop with Michigan taxidermist Jean Roll. Bobby passed away in his sleep at the age of 40 on September 23, 2010.

Michigan taxidermist Elmer Flener of Berrien Springs, MI, poses here with his Polytranspar Award from the 1999 Michigan Taxidermist Association convention. Elmer lost his long battle with pancreatic cancer on September 17, 2010.

Taxidermist and Platinum Forum Member Tyler Neidig (Rebel) of Longs, South Carolina, who passed away on August 12, 2010 following a tragic auto accident.

Legendary Michigan taxidermist Dale Cornetet of Grand Rapids, poses here with his winning entries from the 1991 IGT competition where he won both Best of Show Fish and Best of Show Bird. Dale passed away on July 30, 2010.

Canadian Gerard (Gerry) Tessier, also known as "Mr. Fleshing", was the designer and owner of Quebec Fleshing Machines. Gerard was the first taxidermist to make presentations on fleshing and fleshing machines to the taxidermy public some 30 years ago at the first Taxidermy Review competitions and seminars. He passed away in the summer of 2010.

Pheasant mount by Jeff McAdam of Victor, Iowa, who died May 28, 2010. Jeff was a longtime Forum member who went by mountman as well as a lifetime member of the NTA as a member of the Iowa Taxidermists Association.

Al Holmes of Wetumpka, Alabama passed away on April 13, 2010 after a long illness. Al was instrumental in establishing the NTA in the early 1970s, was a judge at the first NTA competition, served as president and board member for many years, and was the originator of the NTA Award of Excellence.

Heather Miller is pictured here on the day she shot her buck that was donated by Hunt of a Lifetime. Brian Claar mounted this deer for her and many people on Taxidermy.Net donated supplies, cash, a pedestal base and other things to help make her dream come true. Many Taxidermy.Net members showered her with cards. Heather passed away on January 29, 2010 at the age of eleven.
