I have to agree with shedfreak, I would have thought this was a black and white photo.

Amazing work!  Specifically, which Ampersand board are you using?  I've been drawing on Crescent hot press illustration boards, and they are nice.  But they yellow a little, and they are not as easily subtractive as a clay board probably is.  Is this board you are using a clay board?

Also, what pencils are you using?  Wooden...mechanical.....0.05mm....0.07mm?

I am always interested in learning how others do what they do and the tools they use.  Thanks,

Shane

Thank you everyone for your comments, they are very much appreciated.

Shane, yes, I am using the Ampersand claybords for my drawings. It is a little difficult at first to learn how to work it, but once you do, it works great. I use only Faber Castell pencils in a 3B and 8B, I also use graphite powder, but not on this particular board. I blend with a couple different sized tortillons and I also very lightly scratch most of the detail with a variety of different tools. A tool that I use a lot is a very small fiberglass brush. I hope this give you some ideas.
