This is a Ukulele that I just finished building, using a cigar box for the sound chamber. The top is of Hawaiian Koa wood, maple neck, Zebra wood finger board. Yes, it really plays, and sounds like a Ukulele too.

Now THAT is cool. We have a group that gathers every Sunday night across the street at the General Store where pickers come from miles away. Allot of bluegrass and some occasional old country. We have one guy who made a standup bass plucker using an old wash tub and a wooden jack bar with a cable for a string. He can change the pitch of a note by working the jack bar up and down. It sounds great. You should come down sometime and join in. We would love to have you.

Man, I'm telling ya..we have kids playing mandolin's, fiddles and banjo's. You don't have to be good, just ready to have a good time. You'd fit in I'm sure. It's like a music class where everyone from the masters to the beginners all join in together, and the beginners learn as they go. It's old Americana. A throwback to how it use to be. Our kids don't smoke dope and do stupid stuff. They enjoy hanging out with their folks and the old people and they learn a better way of life. That's why I love this little town. We are kind of insulated from the new world around us. And everyone respects each other and calls you neighbor.

I like it Mr. T.
Back when I was in high school, I was in wood shop for about 3 years and I remember one year one of the students did a cigar box Ukulele. I think they did finish it and it played nice.
