Good morning- have you considered possibly watching a couple of DVD's to get a taste first? There are some great ones that show you everything and you  can do the "class" in the confort of your own home. I am becoming partial to Taxidermy Training Unlimited DVD's myself, but have few from other companies also. Birds are very easy to do,John

Very easy to mount maybe but possibly THE most difficult to do correctly. If your looking to slap a bird skin on a mannikin and have a pretty mount you may be ok, but if you want to learn the true anatomy of birds as well as correct finish work better plan on heading out of state. A video is good for giving you an idea of what your in for but wont be much help in dealing with areas that your personally struggling with.
