I'm new in all if this.  My hubby is learning taxidermy and I want to do the habitat part of this.  I am currently working on my first habitat.  I have 6 rocks that I made from foam and a paper mâché clay.  They look good but I'm afraid of the painting part.  I want each to look a bit different.  Reddish, greenish etc.  Please help!  I don't wanna screw them up.  I've read so many techniques I'm even more afraid to try!  Any help would be appreciated!

i use latex house paints (flat) and jim kimball and breda duval tought me to do the dry brush technique. just get a little bit of paint on the bristles brush it off on a peice of cardboard do the majority of it is off (so its not thick) then paint the rock. this way you basiclly paint it in shades. and slowly darken or lighten it. so just keep doing that till it looks the way you want it to.
